Job Description: Bible Professor

About Compass College and Seminary:

Compass College and Seminary is a newly inaugurated institution under the guidance of Shining Light Baptist Church. We aim to impart Christ-focused, scripture-oriented education, encouraging both academic rigor and spiritual deepening, thus equipping the next generation of leaders in ministry.

Position Overview:

We are actively seeking an erudite Bible Professor to augment our academic team. The prospective candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of the Bible, coupled with a proficiency in Biblical Greek, ensuring students get a well-rounded, comprehensive theological education.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Curriculum Development and Teaching:
    • Design and conduct courses related to Biblical studies and Greek.
    • Seamlessly weave in Biblical perspectives and tenets into the curriculum.
    • Stay abreast with evolving theological debates, Greek linguistic developments, and modern teaching methodologies.
  2. Student Mentorship and Support:
    • Assist students in their academic and spiritual quests, offering guidance on coursework, research, and ministry-oriented career opportunities.
    • Supervise and provide feedback on student projects, dissertations, and any related internships.
  3. Faculty Collaboration:
    • Work in tandem with fellow faculty members for interdisciplinary modules and initiatives.
    • Participate in academic planning, faculty meetings, and committees, contributing to the overall growth of the institution.
  4. Research and Continuous Improvement:
    • Undertake scholarly research in the domains of theology and Greek linguistics.
    • Attend, and if possible, present at conferences, seminars, and workshops to maintain relevance and expertise in the twin fields of interest.
  5. Community and Ministry Engagement:
    • Represent the college in various church and community events.
    • Contribute to and sometimes lead ministry initiatives, further solidifying the college's presence and influence.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (Masters acceptable, Doctorate preferred) in Biblical Studies, Theology, or related fields from an accredited institution. Specialization in Greek is essential.
  • Minimum of 3 years teaching experience at the undergraduate level.
  • Proven record of research and publications in the realm of Biblical studies and/or Greek.
  • Deep-rooted faith and alignment with the doctrines of the Independent Baptist tradition.
  • Demonstrable experience or inclination towards integrating faith and academics.
  • Stellar communication and relational skills.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Elementary Education Professor to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will combine their expertise in elementary education with a deep understanding and respect for Biblical principles, fostering a holistic teaching approach that nurtures both intellectual and spiritual growth in our students. An additional proficiency in College English, Composition, and Speech will be highly advantageous and enhance our holistic teaching approach that nurtures both intellectual and spiritual growth in our students.
